Objective: To introduce participants to pranayama techniques, their benefits, and how to integrate them into daily life for better health and well-being.

Session Breakdown



• What is Pranayama?  (Pranayama, its roots in Yoga, and its benefits for the mind and body.)


• Breath Awareness & Preparation


• Posture & Alignment: Proper sitting posture for pranayama (spine alignment, hand placement, comfort).



• Diaphragmatic (Belly) Breathing : Introduction to deep breathing techniques to activate the parasympathetic nervous system.


3. Foundational Pranayama Techniques


• Nadi Shodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing): Balancing the nervous system, clearing energy channels.


• Ujjayi (Victorious Breath): Warming breath used in yoga asanas and meditation.


• Bhramari (Bee Breath): Vibrational breathing to calm the mind and reduce stress.


4. Advanced & Energizing Techniques

• Kapalabhati (Skull-Shining Breath): Detoxifying and energizing breath.


• Bhastrika (Bellows Breath): Stimulating breath for energy and clarity.


• Chandra Bhedana / Surya Bhedana (Moon & Sun Breath): Cooling vs. heating breath practices.
